The sequel to Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010), it is the second and final installment in the Percy Jackson film series.
The film received mixed reviews from critics, with praise for its visuals and action, but criticism for its plot and characters.

"I think the Sea of Monsters is just as good as the Lightning Thief, although it was a bit more confusing than the Lightning Thief. Something which I found very confusing was how Clarrise just happens to exist in this movie and not the last one (the only reason I knew who Clarrise was, was because I have read the Percy Jackson books). Otherwise, it was a thrilling film, with realistic action scenes, horrifying monster, and really good characters. My favourite character was Luke because of the mystery behind his survival of he and Percy's fight at the end of the last movie. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes a thriller."
