Mix Up Theatre is a Youth Theatre providing drama classes aimed at evolving and nurturing the imagination by developing the skills of the students as performers and storytellers. Through creative drama and techniques we create brand new pieces of devised theatre.
Mix Up Theatre provides a 'mix-up' of all aspects of performance and we have regular one-off workshops from professional companies and practitioners .
We also love a group trip to the theatre!
We're called Mix Up Theatre because we offer a Mix Up of all things theatre!

Shakespeare… the Mix Up Theatre version!
"All the world's a stage and all the Mix Up kids are merely players!"
This term, our young performers will dive into the magical world of Shakespeare. We’ll be creating our very own original show, inspired by Shakespeare’s most iconic themes, characters, and stories.
Expect mischief, magic, mistaken identities, and a sprinkle of Shakespearean dialogue — just enough to give our actors a taste of the Bard while keeping everything playful, imaginative, and totally kid‑friendly.
✨ What to look forward to:
- Creating brand‑new characters inspired by classics like Romeo & Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Macbeth
- Inventing our own plots filled with adventure, comedy, and dramatic flair
- Learning fun Shakespeare phrases (think “All the world’s a stage!” or “Something wicked this way comes!”)
- Building confidence through movement, voice, and creative storytelling
- A final performance that blends Shakespearean magic with our cast’s brilliant ideas
