Intrepid reporter Tintin and Captain Haddock set off on a treasure hunt for a sunken ship commanded by Haddock's ancestor.
The film received positive reviews from critics, who praised the stylized motion capture animation (particularly the faithful character designs to Hergé's works), visual effects, action sequences, cast performances, and musical score, with the film positively compared to Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981).
MIX UP REVIEWS:
Jan (Age 11) - ★★★★
"Thrilling. I really enjoyed it, my favourite part of it was when Tintin first met Captain Haddock. I also quite liked the hallucination in the desert. The first 30 minutes of the movie were a bit confusing, but otherwise I love the film."

The Adventures of Tintin (1991 TV) - n/a
There's more excellent comic book adpatations with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Ant-Man and Nimona as well as the animated TV series of The Adventures of Tintin. More animated action and likeable leads in The Incredibles series and How to Train Your Dragon. Director Steven Spielberg has a similar vibe in Raiders of the Lost Ark and the writers were also involved in Ant-Man and Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Last Jedi. The film Beowulf has a similar animation style as well.
