"This is a fantastic opportunity to find out some insight on some of the zoo's most interesting and loveable creatures. Special mention to the armadillo - who was delightful. We learned a lot of information about the animals we met and managed to get up close to some of them as well. Brilliant."

"I loved it! I like the owls the best!"
Exhibition - Dynamic Earth - until 20th April 2025
Check out the microscopic marine life that is crucial for the whole Earth.
We usually look across the ocean but not into it, where tons of tiny organisms live, leaving a vital footprint on our climate and records of climate history.
This exhibition, presented by researchers from Heriot-Watt University, highlights the importance of these microorganisms as tiny authors and record keepers. They save information about climate change over time, teach us about the Earth we inhabit and what this means for the future.

"I'm always a big fan of the free exhibitions you'll find during the Edinburgh Science Festival. This year's is a bit miniscule, and probably quite apt really as it deals with the microcopic life in our oceans. There's a lot of information on a small amount of space so there's a lot of info to take in, but the layout, illustrauin and design is fantastic. Just maybe not all worth the journey just to see this, still there's plenty going on inside Dynamic Earth as well so it's a welcome addition to your visit."
