The MUST-SEE of the Week though is

Echoes of Stansfield Manor

Theatre

Saturday 14th March Assembly Roxy, 1pm

A haunting new play from Mix Up Theatre – Edinburgh Seniors 2026

Step inside Stansfield Manor — a place where time folds, memories linger, and the past refuses to stay buried. Spanning a century of secrets, Echoes of Stansfield Manor weaves together three timelines: a forbidden love in 1926, a chaotic film shoot in 1976, and a modern-day haunting that draws one woman back to where it all began.

From ghost hunters livestreaming in the dark to glamorous 1970s divas, from star-crossed lovers to a house that burns again and again, this darkly funny and deeply atmospheric play explores what happens when stories are silenced… and what rises when they demand to be heard.

As reality blurs with performance, and the living collide with the dead, one question echoes through the walls:

Do you ever get the feeling that you’re being watched?

A bold, imaginative, and emotionally charged ensemble piece — filled with humour, heart, and a lingering sense of the uncanny.

Georgie (Age 10) - ★★★★★

"The show was awesome, I loved it. The girl Madison who played Matilda was soooo good she done really well. Miss Trunchbull was the best she was so funny. I loved when Matilda told the librarian her story. The set was great and all the lights also the chalkboard scene was crazy it was genuinely moving. I loved how all the kids had smiles on their faces. Brucie was also really funny. Rudolpho was being ridiculous and funny too. I really recommend it for everyone to go see it was awesome. There was so many good bits, I had such a good night I give it 10 out of 10. It was probably the best show I've seen."

The McManus: Dundee's Art Gallery and Museum - until 15th November

The McManus: Dundee’s Art Gallery and Museum is delighted to present Curtain Call: Costumes from Stage and Screen, a striking new exhibition that celebrates the creative power and global influence of costume designers who hail from or were inspired by Dundee.

Stewart - ★★★★★

"Fantastic exhibition highlighting costumes created by Dundee designers for stage and screen. It's wonderful to soak up all the details in these exquisite pieces, particular highlights include Ben Kingsley's Othello costume for the Royal Shakespeare Company and the recent Dundee Rep's production of Oor Wullie.

It's a small exhibition but it suitably feels like a backstage treat and it's great to see these pieces on display and given the platform to breathe and be fully appreciated by theatre and film fans like us!"

The first movie flew – but Wicked: For Good soars. This “intense, action-packed” movie is one of the year’s hottest sequels.

Nina (Age 13) - ★★★★★

"Wow I have no words it was amazing!! Wicked: For Good is based on the second act of the musical Wicked. The music is incredible and the movie features 2 new songs the musical doesn’t. Ariana Grande (Glinda) and Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba) both are amazing actresses. Cynthia has a very powerful voice and Ariana’s high notes are everything! It was such a heartwarming, dramatic and emotional conclusion of the story. It’s set 5 years after the first movie and it shows how far Glinda and Elphaba have come since the end of the first film. Glinda has a glamorous lifestyle and she has become Glinda the Good and Elphaba (now the Wicked Witch of the West) is hiding away and trying to save the animals and prove the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) is a fraud. Grab your tissues, prepare for insane singing talent and sit back relax and enjoy the film! (And maybe cry a little)” 1000000/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐"

A lonely man finds himself in a strange place where everything is planned in advance for his arrival.

Stewart - ★★★★★

"A haunting, strange animated film with that wonderful track from Eluvium. It's super creepy and creates a mysterious world all of its own. With echoes of David Lynch it's inspired and one that I just want to explore again as we follow a man's journey to a strange hotel. Animation is fantastic as well. Perfection."

Citizens Theatre, Glasgow - until 14th March

Matthew Kelly and George Costigan star in a new staging of Samuel Beckett’s classic play – in which absolutely nothing happens.

Olivia (Age 14) - ★★★★1/2

"I thought this show was amazing, the character dynamic between Gogo and Dede (Vladimir and Estragon) was amazing, the way they bounced off of each others words and made everything look so natural and unplanned is a skill.

Lucky and Pozzo were hilarious but I felt bad for lucky until he kicked Gogo

(Lucky's dancing skills are immaculate! But when he was told to think I couldn't really understand what he was saying because he was talking so quick)

They had the audience laughing at every other sentence but there was a few jokes I didn't get (and a few adult jokes!)

I got a little confused when the boy showed up twice but then I realized Dede was most likely dreaming?

I was so invested in seeing if Godot would actually show up, they made the time go by so quickly.

Their projection was great and they used the whole stage, which by the way was also an amazing set.

But overall an amazing show, definitely must see!"

Stranded on an island, a gang of schoolboys creates their own community - but when the rules vanish, the beast within awakens.

Nina (Age 13) - ★★★★1/2

"Loved it! Such good costume and make up. The makeup is very realistic, sometimes a little too realistic! They filmed it on a real island which made it 10 times better! The special effects are awesome! It’s an amazing story about a bunch of boys who get stranded on a desert island and have to survive on their own. Ralph gets voted Chief, although Jack is not happy with this and makes his own tribe, The Hunters! Rivalry begins and also a hunt for the beast! The actors are amazing! Lox Pratt (Jack) is amazing! Winston Sawyers (Ralph) has such good acting talent! The casting of Jack and Ralph was perfect to capture the rivalry between the two sides! The music is a bit questionable though. After watching it I watched the making of and it was really cool to see how they did everything! Overall a really good series but be careful with younger children as some scenes are quite frightening!"
