Theatre REVIEW: Matilda The Musical - ★★★★★



Matilda The Musical, the multi-award winning musical from the Royal Shakespeare Company is inspired by the beloved book by Roald Dahl.


Winner of over 100 global awards, including 24 for Best Musical, the ‘unique and unforgettable’ (Rolling Stone) global phenomenon, Matilda has now delighted over 12 million audiences worldwide.


In celebration of 15 years on stage since opening at the Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon, and following performances in 100 cities across 17 countries worldwide, Matilda now returns for a UK tour.


With book by Dennis Kelly, music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and directed by Matthew Warchus, Matilda is the story of an extraordinary little girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.

"The show was awesome, I loved it. The girl Madison who played Matilda was soooo good she done really well. Miss Trunchbull was the best she was so funny. I loved when Matilda told the librarian her story. The set was great and all the lights also the chalkboard scene was crazy it was genuinely moving. I loved how all the kids had smiles on their faces. Brucie was also really funny. Rudolpho was being ridiculous and funny too. I really recommend it for everyone to go see it was awesome. There was so many good bits, I had such a good night I give it 10 out of 10. It was probably the best show I've seen."
