Adaptation of the comedy diary of a teenage boy just coping with high school life.

The classic story is updated for modern audiences from the director of Twilight.
8. The Witches (2020) - adapted from The Witches by Roald Dahl
The latest adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic creepy children's story.
9. Empire of the Sun (1987) - adapted from Empire of the Sun by J.G. Ballard
A visually fantastic film from Steven Spielberg based on the semi-autobiographical story from J.G. Ballard as his time as an English boy in China during WWII.

Excellent adaptations of the series, a great mix of cinema and staying true to the source as well. There's no surprise that all adaptations appear in our Top 20.
