1. La La Land (2016)

While navigating their careers in Los Angeles, a pianist and an actress fall in love while attempting to reconcile their aspirations for the future.

Available on Amazon Prime

A TV interviewer and his cameraman meet a former actress and travel through her memories and career.

Jasmine (Age 15) - ★★★★★

"A tale of first love and its endearing hope. Directed by Satoshi Kon, Millenium Actress smoothly blends the past of Miss Chiyoko Fujiwara- an aging actress- with the movies she has starred in as she reveals her past to two documentarians. The transitions in these scenes are breathtaking (something Kon is particularly known for) as he edits together seemingly unrelated pieces which fit into the wider story.

From paying homage to Japanese cinema throughout the 20th century to its universal themes of love and longing, “Millenium Actress” is a movie everyone should put on their bucket list!"

Two strangers find themselves linked in a bizarre way. When a connection forms, will distance be the only thing to keep them apart?

Stewart - ★★★★★

"A beautiful animated film following the strangely interlinked lives of two teenagers. The characters are fully rounded, likeable and the audience fully invests in their story. The story is part body swap comedy and part intense end of the world drama. The visuals are absolutely stunning, what a gorgeous film to be swept away into including those beautiful shots of the sky. See this one now if you haven't already - and if you have, watch it again."

Daniel (Age 11) - ★★★1/2

"This film was decent. The storyline was gripping and it had a great ending but at some points I found it a bit confusing and hard to follow. Some of the fight scenes were amazing, especially the ones with the sword but I didn't like the flying bits."

Daniel (Age 11) - ★★★★

'This was very different from the sort of movie I would normally watch but it was a really interesting story and funny too. I liked how the character was introduced in a creative way and I think there was an important message about supporting people who are different. I liked Johnny Depp's performance, although he doesn't say much we feel a lot of sympathy for the character through his facial expressions and body language. I recommend this film."

Stewart- ★★★★★

'A magical film that looks great and has it's own take on the tale whilst staying loyal to the animated Disney classic. The leads have great chemistry and the film is one of the best live-action remakes that Disney has made."
