Part of UK Tour...

The spectacular, hilarious, highly explosive science stunt show. Brace yourselves for the Rude Science team’s hilarious, high-tech, highly-explosive new journey through the human body, packed with burp biology, fart physics and revolting edible chemistry.

Mix Up Junior (Age 7) - ★★★★★

""There was a big bum on the stage! Which was hilarious! And then we all had to make the biggest fart noise and I liked even all the disgusting bits - like how poo is made! 100 farts out of 100!"

2. The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie

Theatre

★★★★★

21st - 24th October, Citizens Theatre, Glasgow

Part of Scotland Tour...

In a new adaptation by David Harrower, which sharpens the knives of Spark’s extraordinary work, and with a cast lead by Gayle Rankin (Glow, House of The Dragon), this visceral production looks head on at our enduring moral fascination with such a beguiling and dangerous character.

Archie (Age 13 ) - ★★★★★

"The show is an adaptation of a novel. Miss Brodie is a teacher in a posh Edinburgh girls school in the 1930s. Each year she selects girls to be in her “set”.

I really enjoyed this play. It is partly a coming of age story about the girls with one act taking place when they are 11 and second when they are 15. Miss Brodie wants to expand their views on art, music and culture particularly on all things Italian.

The story focuses on Miss Brodie’s relationship with the girls which is partly inspiring teacher but manipulative. Miss Brodie also has relationships two male teachers.

All the acting was incredible. I really liked Mr Lowther the music teacher who was really funny. Miss Brodie was powerful and chilling. She is a fascist and this combined with her relationship with the girls unravels in the second half.

The stage was in a half amphitheater with steps which was used brilliantly. The music, lighting and video footage conveyed changes as well as the intensity and manipulation inherent in the story.

The costumes were really good especially the school uniform transition from junior to senior school which showed the girls were becoming more adult.

I have heard that the novel is Ian Rankin’s favourite and he reads it every year. I also loved the Edinburgh references.

The play is amazing and I would totally recommend. It looked like the entire audience were giving a standing ovation at the end."

18th October - Beacon Arts, Greenock

21st - 22nd October - Tivoli Theatre, Aberdeen

23rd - 24th October - Dundee Rep

Part of Scotland Tour...

The riotous original musical comedy-horror that’s had audiences screaming with laughter returns this Autumn.

Stewart - ★★★★★

"Absolutely hilarious show - the audience were literally screaming in laughter fits throughout the evening. This very broad Scottish comedy is like a mash-up of Two Doors Down and Friday the 13th - with an extra shot of rude, crude, hilarity.

Three friends are on a trip to a very fancy lodge but there's something sinister going on outside - and perhaps inside as well.

It's worth not knowing too much of the storyline as this was a real surprise for me this one. Cast are fantastic, script has some biting zingers and the tunes throughout has some bangers! It's a tightly put together belter of a show! If you're over 18 (it's one for the parents this!), go see it!"

4. Monsters and Myths Trail at Dynamic Earth

Gallery

★★★★★

until 1st November, Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh

It’s back! The Monsters & Myths Trail returns this October, with new spooky stories and spectacular science! Follow the Monsters & Myths Trail through Dynamic Earth’s interactive galleries and uncover the real creatures, natural wonders and scientific secrets that have inspired your favourite spooky tales.

Mix Up Junior (Age 7) - ★★★★★

"I love Dynamic Earth and the volcano bit and the 3D movie is the best.

It was fun collecting all the mythical creatures today and getting the stamp and stickers.

The potion was brilliant but I din't really like the taste of it!"

Film - Cinema

★★★★★

Samizdat - Eastern European Film Festival 2026

A poor fisherman catches a talking fish. Upon releasing it, he summons a shape-shifting wizard by mistake.

Stewart - ★★★★★

"What the heck is this bonkers animation? I loved it! A surreal odyssey with some brilliant bizarre animation, which is also pretty mesmerizing and hypnotising. The story is fun and character design of the wizard monster creature is pretty spectacular.

It's a lot like a Monty Python animation - but weirder!

A lot of the fun from this short is reading everyone's reactions on the YouTube comments!"

24th & 25th October, Carriagewords, Leeds

This musical adaptation of the award-winning children’s book will delight audiences young and old with beautiful puppets, catchy tunes and an uplifting tale of self-acceptance for all the family.

Oban (Age 8) - ★★★★★

"The puppets were so cool, I like how they made them blink, it made me want to see if I could make a puppet who can do that. My favourite bit in the story was when the little yak saved a littler yak. I also liked when they projected pictures onto the moon."

Theatre - Music

★★★★★

18th October - Beacon, Bristol

Part of UK Tour

Celebrate 20 years of elemental storytelling, unforgettable characters, and the epic journey that defined a generation.

Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert – 20th Anniversary Tour presents a stunning live orchestral performance of the series’ beloved soundtrack, now elevated with a once-in-a-lifetime cinematic experience.

Stewart -  ★★★★★

"A phenomenal experience for any fan of the show - which Junior and I both are. The music is just fantastic and seeing all the characters and storylines have their moments was wonderful. Part of the fun is the audience yelling, wooping and cheering throughout - but am I really the only one who liked Jet?!

There's some reallly emotional moments in there as well, with Appa's Lost Days and Uncle Iroh's song for his son really getting the audience into a bit of a sniffle - of which I was one!

Sadly the concert perhaps just a bit too long for junior on a school night as he was starting to doze off before the interval so we left before the end - however I've seen this concert before and know it's fully deserving of the 5 starts and more!

"Secret tunnel, secret tunnel... through the mountain....""

8. Sylvia

19th - 24th October, Lowry Salford - Part of UK Tour

The Olivier Award-winning musical about a family torn between loyalty, love, and revolution explodes onto the stage.

Erynn (Age 13) - ★★★★★

"The show was educational whilst being engaging and a lot of fun. The characters were unique, with distinct personalities. The costumes and all the visuals worked very well. And the songs were so good, the style really suited the show 😻"

Film - Cinema

★★★★★

Grab your sword, sandals and popcorn for Christopher Nolan's fantasy blockbuster. The event movie that redefines the word ‘epic’.

Stewart - ★★★★★

"What a film! A total epic masterpiece, visually stunning, cast are all fantastic and the film is just a stunning immersive experience. Glad I caught it in IMAX as well. Nolan does it again in terms of creating a film that will stay with you for a very long time."

20th - 21st October - Norwich Theatre, Playhouse

23rd - 24th October - Belgrade Theatre, Coventry

Following a sell-out UK tour, the award-winning ThickSkin present this chilling new play by Tim Foley (former Bruntwood Prize-winner).

Myles (Age 15 ) - ★★★★1/2

"I absolutely loved the acting in this- The lead, George Taylor was fantastic, delivering a great performance with a perfect balance of being funny and being afraid. The atmosphere was incredible- The lights, sound and costume all combined to evoke the perfect eerie, creepy and macabre feeling. It was balanced extremely well with the humour to break up all the creepiness. The story was also great and really engaging- constantly leaving you asking more questions and sparking your curiosity and intrigue. However, the ending was a little bit anti-climatic and fast. But, overall this was still a phenomenal show. Nine stars out of ten."
