Theatre REVIEW: The Trocks: Les Ballets Trockadero De Monte Carlo - ★★★★★

For almost 50 years, the all-male comedy ballet company Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo (affectionately known as “The Trocks”) have been delighting audiences of all ages at sell-out performances featuring their fabulous sense of fun and their flawless dance.

Originally from New York, the Trocks are now loved worldwide for their sassy spoofs and hilarious homages to classical ballet, where 16 dancers each transform into two personas, both ballerina and danseur!

Every performance frivolously froths with tutus and testosterone, blush-pink ballet pumps, fierce false eyelashes and prima ballerina attitude. However, what makes this company extraordinarily special is their immaculate technique and daring physicality, surpassed only by their impeccable comic timing.

MIX UP REVIEWS:

Archie (Age 10) & Maddie (Age 8) - ★★★★★

"We loved the show. It was danced really well, especially the funny "mistakes". The costumes were fab-u-lous. The pairing was hilarious - a tall "female" and short "male". We knew they were drag queens. Granty Sheila couldn't stop laughing at the reference to the pas de trois.

Our favourite part was swan lake act II particularly the dying swan. Maddie thought that the prince's walk across the stage was hilarious!

And Archie liked the guys arguing and then tripping over a swan. It has given him more inspiration for stories!

That's 5 stars from maddie and Archie - it was so foos!"
