"This was a musical about the 19th century American showman P. T. Barnum. I really enjoyed the show. There was a mix of music, circus acrobatics, puppetry and theatre. The cast were really talented performers, and with no orchestra they played a huge number of instruments on stage themselves.
As well as aerial hoops and tightrope walking, the show has the fake acts he made famous. The world’s oldest woman, the world’s smallest man and the world’s biggest elephant. The fully functioning elephant puppet in particular was amazing!
I also like the telling of the show that they don’t just portray him as the hero, in real life Barnum was not a very good person, and they also show the devious con tricks he used. I totally recommend."
