"This week, I went to see The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at the Festival Theatre. I loved it!
It is based on the book by CS Lewis. It was really cool that he used his experience as a soldier to write his stories.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is about 4 children that left London during the war to stay safe. They stayed with a Professor in a big house in the middle of nowhere. They found a wardrobe in the house and went through it to a magical world called Narnia. They met animals that could talk and the Queen of Narnia, who was actually a witch! The witch took one of the children to her castle and his brother and sisters went to save him. A lion, called Aslan, came to help the children get their brother back.
I think the show had great actors. I really liked that they played the musical instruments onstage and also sang, danced and controlled the puppets. The man that played the lion wore a cool fur costume and had a big puppet of a lion behind him.
My favourite part of the show was when the witch rises up on the stage and is floating in the air. Her costumes were also beautiful. The ending was also really good!
I would give it 4.5 stars out of 5.
I would recommend it for ages 8+ because some young kids in the audience were scared and started crying."
