Theatre REVIEW: Pride & Prejudice (Sort Of) - ★★★★★

THE FIVE STAR COMEDY SENSATION

DIRECT FROM THE WEST END

Pride & Prejudice* (*sort of)

By Isobel McArthur after Jane Austen

Direct from its triumph in the West End where it won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy and the Evening Standard Award, Pride and Prejudice* (*sort of) is a unique and audacious retelling of Jane Austen’s most iconic love story.

Men, money and microphones will be fought over in this irreverent but affectionate adaptation where the stakes couldn’t be higher when it comes to romance. This multi-award-winning production features a string of pop classics including Young Hearts Run Free, Will You Love Me Tomorrow and You’re So Vain.

IT’S THE 1800S.

IT’S PARTY TIME.

Archie (Age 12) - ★★★★

"I have watched the tv series. I liked how 5 actors played all the roles and it was kind of a modern adaptation."

Olivia (Age 13) - ★★★★

"I would give the show 4 stars as it was very good, I loved how they would change the sets so easily and how everyone played multiple characters. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because it did get a little confusing, but overall it was a great show!"

Nina (Age 12) - ★★★★★

"It was a very funny show and I loved it! I couldn’t stop laughing the whole way through it!"

Sandy (Age 11) - ★★★★★

"It was AMAZING! Elizabeth was obviously the best character, her sass and personally was just amazing. It was also very entertaining and a TINY bit disturbing at times. The show is a good all rounder. I would rate it 5 stars (like how many actors there were)."

Skye (Age 15) - ★★★★

"I thought the show was very entertaining and it was surprisingly funny, I hadn't seen pride and prejudice before and this was a great first viewing, the actors though there weren't many, the ones they had were very talented and pulled off all the different roles, over all I think it was a great show."

Erynn (Age 11) - ★★★★★

"I really enjoyed it. It was very funny, while also having a good and easy to follow storyline. The characters were very well thought out."

Alison - ★★★★★

"As someone who can almost recite Pride and Prejudice (or P and P), I absolutely loved this play within a play!

I loved the humour and energy of the performers - great soundtrack and musical numbers. My favourite moments were the Darcy portraits, Mr Bingley running through the audience to Jane and Mary finally getting to sing.

Very joyful and heartwarming. The performers all looked like they had a ball and so did we!"

Stewart - ★★★★★

"Brilliant! A whole lot of fun and still very faithful to the original material. Cast are fantastic and plenty of laughs along the way."

We enjoyed the show so much we decided to have a go at a few scenes ourselves...
