"To be perfectly honest there is very little different between the extended edition and the normal version. But there are some new scenes, its still basically the same film. Frodo and Sam are sent to destroy the one ring. They come across Merry & Pippin, then Strider and get to Rivendell to form the Fellowship. Then shenanigans happen, Gandalf falls down a ravine. The fellowship is broken and Frodo and Sam leave and the film ends. The only extended part I remember is when Sam mentions the elves."
