based on How the Grinch Stole Christmas! by Dr. Seuss

On the outskirts of Whoville lives a green, revenge-seeking Grinch who plans to ruin Christmas for all of the citizens of the town.

The film was based on Dr. Seuss's 1957 children's book of the same name, as the first Dr. Seuss book to be adapted into a full-length feature film and the first of only two live-action Dr. Seuss films, followed by The Cat in the Hat in 2003. This was also the second adaptation of the book, after the 1966 animated TV special of the same name.

It initially received mixed reviews from critics, though Carrey's performance and the make-up have received praise and it has since gained a strong cult following.

MIX UP REVIEWS:

Sophie (Age 10): ★★★★★

"This movie is so magical and really gets you in the Christmas spirit. There is a lovely message in the film about the true meaning of Christmas and I love the music in it as well. My favourite part is when the Grinch sings his song."
