This week's big cinema release...
TOP 10 BOX OFFICE: 24th November
1. WICKED: FOR GOOD
Directed by: Jon M. Chu
Starring: Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jeff Goldblum
It’s fair to say the first slice of Jon M. Chu’s Wicked has been a slam-dunk. But it gets serious in the sequel, as Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba completes her arc from misunderstood outsider to full-blown villain. “It gets messier in movie two,” says Chu. “You are in the mud from the very beginning, and this beautiful, perfect, simple fairytale suddenly becomes very complicated.”

2. NOW YOU SEE ME: NOW YOU DON'T
Directed by: Ruben Fleischer
Starring: Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco
The con is back on as Venom director Ruben Fleischer ropes in the old crew (including Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Lizzy Caplan and Dave Franco) for their ballsiest heist so far. “Every day we walk onto set and pinch ourselves,” Eisenberg told the BFI London Film Festival, “because the set pieces, the magic, the ensemble, it's really, truly miraculous."

5. PREDATOR: BADLANDS
Directed by: Dan Trachtenberg
Starring: Elle Fanning
Dan Trachtenberg restored the limping Predator franchise with 2022’s Prey, and now the director throws a curveball with a new creature feature that at least partly unfolds from the alien’s perspective. “The creature is front and centre, leading the charge,” Trachtenberg told Empire. “He’s still badass, but there’s something there that touches you emotionally, too. Creating a character you connect with, but are also super-intimidated by, has been challenging. But exciting.”

ZOOTROPOLIS 2
Directed by: Jared Bush & Byron Howard
Starring: Jason Bateman, Ginnifer Goodwin, Rolando Davila-Beltran
Back in 2016, Disney’s Oscar-winning Zootropolis was a classic buddy comedy – that just happened to star a con-artist fox (Jason Bateman’s Nick Wilde) and a perky bunny-rabbit cop (Ginnifer Goodwin’s Judy Hopps). Now, Wilde and Hopps are back on the case in Zootopropolis 2, with the animal lawmakers going undercover in Marsh Market to catch Ke Huy Quan’s criminal snake. “The idea that we’d get to go back and explore more was always something that we really wanted to do,” director Jared Bush told Good Morning America.
