When the Dark Elves attempt to plunge the universe into darkness, Thor must embark on a perilous and personal journey that will reunite him with doctor Jane Foster.

It is the sequel to Thor (2011) and the eighth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

It received praise for the performances of Hemsworth and Hiddleston, visual effects, and action sequences, but was criticized for its generic villain and lack of depth. Retrospectively, Taylor expressed dissatisfaction with the film and said Marvel substantially altered it from his original vision during post-production. Two sequels have been released: Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022).

MIX UP REVIEWS:

Jan (Age 12): ★★★★

"This film was ok, it was quite weird at times as well. The main characters were; Chris Hemsworth as Thor, is likable and fun to watch, Tom Hiddleston as Loki(he was awesome!!!), and Natalie Portman was pretty good as well. The storyline of this film is great, the action scenes were okay, but I think that the action scenes in the first Thor movie looked better and more impressive. Loki is such a trickster, every time you think he is dead, he is not, it is one of the best characters in the MCU. The death of Frigga was sad to see, but I think it was a smart addition to the storyline. Darcy and Ian's relationship was the most awkward thing I have seen in the MCU.

Overall a pretty good film, I hope 'Captain America: the winter soldier' is better."
