MIX UP REVIEWS:

Jasmine (Age 15) - ★★★★

"“The Menu” had me captivated from start to finish with its absurd (and comically dark) plot. My favorite thing about this movie is that it ignores conventional story progression techniques creating a tense and nerve-wracking thriller. With the wonderful Anya Taylor Joy (The Queens Gambit) and the intensely creepy Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort in Harry Potter) playing “the chef” the tension is only heightened as these two characters go head-to-head. Another great pointer about this movie is its cinematography which is stunning and clear, creating a visually appealing watch. For lovers of thrillers!

There's some campy black comedy horror in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? with a sister for a knack for odd cooking. More creepy stories appear in The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, The Woman in Black and the recent Nope. For a bit more investigations into strange goings on check out Searching and The Wicker Man. Arachnaphobia and Jaws 2 are cult classic horrors but more creature based and Anya Taylor-Joy has an early role in the horror comedy Vampire Academy. Meanwhile she also plays another female hero in the Super Mario Bros. Movie.
